Don't Come Knocking (2005)

During the filming of a second‑rate western, aging leading man Howard Spence suddenly takes off — quite classically on horseback. In a desolate small town he visits his mother for the first time in 30 years and discovers that he is a father. Howard sets off on a road trip into the past, to his children by different women and to his former lover. In the end he is confronted with the shards of his existence and must realize that a missed life cannot be made up for.
